Dialectic Pursuit

Thank you for checking out my game! I realize I can be long winded when it comes to descriptions so I made sure to section out everything below so you can read what you wish.  

Personal Overview

I started working on Dialectic Pursuit in late 2021. Throughout my life, I have made countless board games, card games, and as a kid, playground games. However, I have always wanted to make a video game, and RPG Maker has allowed me to do that. I have a very strong attachment to this game, so you can rest assured that it will not be dropped. I want to make this game the very best it can be! I have a small Discord for this game for those interested as well. 

About the Story

Dialectic Pursuit follows Ennith as he takes up fighting monsters once more after retiring for over two years. At first, the game presents you with "the good guys" and "the bad guys". However, as the story continues, Ennith finds that not everything is as it seems. At a certain point, the story splits into two as Ennith must decide who to side with, and that decision is fully up to the player. What truth will you pursue?

What to Expect

This game is currently in Alpha, which for this game specifically means the story is in active development. Currently, there are over 15 hours of gameplay and the main story will take you all the way to where the game splits into two, and a bit beyond. The two routes are called Iron Will and Scarlet Dawn and chapters 1 and 2 of both routes are completed at this time. There are currently  8 Chapters in total completed at this time.  I will say that there is a LOT of side content for those who enjoy that, and each of the boss fights has its own mechanics to figure out. 

NOTE: I fully wish and desire any and all criticism so I can make this game the best it can be. You are welcome to make any comments here, or, you can head over to our small Discord community and talk there!

Secrets!

There are... a LOT... of secrets in this game. And, it's not even close to finished yet! Several of the secret mechanics and whatnot are listed in the Discord, but here is a brief overview. For one, there are multiple ultra-rare monster encounters, and they are split into three types. One gives you exp boosts, and the other two are different types of bosses. You can also obviously expect hidden loot and puzzles! Oh yeah, and the fact that almost every monster has an extremely rare drop that lets you use one of their abilities! I'm a big fan of optional grinding mechanics, (I love shiny hunting in Pokémon),  so that's why I've included all of these secrets. None of them are required of course. 

The Boss Fights

I love making the boss fights. Each one is a joy for me. That said, I didn't pull my punches for most of them. Since each has unique mechanics, the odds that you beat a boss on the first try are very low. Once you figure out what you need to do though, every boss is manageable. There are over 20 boss battles at this point, and I hope you enjoy them all! This brings me to the final note I want to make,

The Music

I have been hard at work gathering talented artists to create custom music for my game. As of 0.0.10.0, this game has ten fully custom songs with many more to come! I have a passion for game music so you can be sure to expect high-quality songs as I continue making this game my own. Enjoy!
