Massive Anniversary Update! - Version 0.0.9.0
Yo! This is by FAR the largest update I have ever created! Now, if you are an early bird to this update, there will probably be a few bugs so bear with me as we fix them. As you read the patch notes you will notice several huge changes like the addition of a difficulty modifier as well as a new chapter for both routes! Enjoy the update guys, and don't worry, the 0.0.9 update cycle has some awesome stuff in store! I would expect at least one more medium-sized update to release this year. Thanks for being awesome!
Also, for those who do not know, December 14th was the day I released version 0.0.1.0. We have come so far in just a year!
V 0.0.9.0 Update
Story Updates
- Added Scarlet Dawn: Chapter 2. Explore Sky-High Islands as you continue the main story! What is in store for our heroes next?
- Added Iron Will: Chapter 2. What’s this?! Both routes received a massive update at the same time?! That’s right! Enjoy whichever route you chose, or maybe even both!
General Changes/Additions
- Added a difficulty modifier. This is done at the start of the game, but for returning players, simply find a computer in any shop to change difficulties.
- Changed the process of selecting a class at the start of the game. It is much more cinematic and immersive now.
- Increased the level cap to 50 and gave each class new abilities once they reach certain levels!
- Added new crafting items located in the new town!
- If you die in the intro, your health is fully reset now to stop a possible soft lock
- Blocked off the left side of the intro to avoid confusion
- Made the tutorial grunt face the player when in battle
- Did some minor text clarification in various parts of the game
- Made a certain part of Kondor’s quest flow a bit better
- Changed how the soothing harmonica works to make it more consistent
- Doubled the regenerative ability of the Phoenix Armor
- Lucky coin’s ability is now ended prematurely if you enter a boss battle. It can also no longer be activated during battle.
- Changed revives from a set value to a % value. Normal revives restore 25% health and super revives restore 75% health.
- Added stairs to the HDC building.
- Added some extra NPC’s to various towns.
- New Konrad Sister item once you “purchase” 5 credits! Forbidden Compound.
- Soul Whip now has a 50% chance to insta kill instead of a 30% chance.
Cosmetic Enemy Changes
- Prototype 001 and 002 have had their design changed as well as some move names in order to make sense with the new design.
- Changed the art of the Reaper boss
Bug Fixes
- Fixed several typos
- Fixed a minor bug where the level-up with Arisu Konran was out of order.
- Fixed a graphical bug relating to the images shown when you get a game over
- Fixed a bug where the gold you got from the intro was not reset
- Fixed some minor bugs with the Quest Finder behaving strangely in some parts of the game
- Fixed a bug where “Retry Battle” did not give you the items that you used back
- Fixed a bug in chapter 6 where you could escape the HDC building
- Fixed a bug with the game over the screen during a chapter 6 boss
Ability Changes
- Shrug it Off: Mana Cost, 15 > 5
- Shrug it Off: Can now ONLY be used out of battle
- Shrug it Off: Healing, 200 > 250
- Warrior’s Drive: Healing, 1000 > 50%
- Warrior’s Drive: Now gives a 25% defense boost for 2 turns.
- Warrior’s Drive: Cost, 50 > 65
- Brute’s Fury: Self Harm, 20% > 30%
- Double Edged Slice: Increased damage and cost to 120 from 80
- The Bleed status now has a max turn limit of 12.
- Fortune Focus II: Cost , 125 > 100
- Draining Strike: Reduced damage
- Iron Willpower: Reduced damage and increased cost to 75 from 50
New Areas
- (Scarlet Dawn) Second floor of the Descending Embers Hideout
- (Scarlet Dawn) Sky-High Islands, a new dungeon
- (Iron Will) Lost Ruins, a new dungeon
- Droplet Haven, a new town
- Loopy Travels, a new path
- Water Walkway, a new path
- Lakeside Trails, a new path
- Ruined Path, a new path

QoL Changes
- Specified the exact amount of health/mana restored for flesh blade and water staff
- Drastically improved crafting by putting all actions to loop. This effectively means you can navigate the menus of crafting without having to open the crafting menu after every action.
- Whenever you get multiple of a specific item, it stacks it in the after-battle screen instead of displaying each one separately.
- Removed most auto advance cutscenes. People were missing out on dialogue so it was concluded to be not a good mechanic.
- Now displays a “Very Weak” identifier for weaknesses that are a bit more detrimental than a normal weakness.
Side Quests/Secrets
- NEW: Scarlet Dawn Chapter 2, Sam in a Pickle. Start this quest by finding Sam in the upper islands in Sky-High Islands
- NEW: Scarlet Dawn Chapter 2, Dragon Scale Earnings. Start this quest by talking to Sanne in Droplet Haven.
- NEW: Scarlet Dawn Chapter 2, A Sticky Situation. Start this quest by talking to Aquilla on the new second floor of the Descending Embers Hideout.
- NEW: Iron Will Chapter 2, The Enchanted ???. Start this quest by talking to Reena in Droplet Haven.
- NEW: Iron Will Chapter 2, Very Tasty Sushi. Start this quest by talking to Jockie in Droplet Haven
- Changed the quest “Carrot Soup”. If you try hard enough, there might be a way to complete it during chapter 1.
- “The Golden Goblin” has been changed to “Ultra Rare Encounter”. This quest change makes getting the trophy case a bit easier.
- “Mystery Girl” this quest has been slightly altered to make the puzzle solutions more obvious.
- “An Important Message” added a small hint to help find Kondor during a specific part of the quest.
Custom Music/Assets
- Moosic Maxie now has its own custom asset! This has replaced the old, clip-art design.
- Stylish Steph now has its own custom asset! This has replaced the old, clip-art design.
- Added a brand new custom song “Betrayal”. This is a cutscene song used in various parts of the game.
- Added a brand new custom song “Clashing Ideals”. This is a boss battle song for some bosses.
- Added a brand new custom song “It’s Go Time!” This is a boss battle song for most bosses.
